Cellist Lars Hoefs and pianist Victor Asuncion will perform a program of contemporary spiritual music from Brazil, featuring works by Almeida Prado (1943-2010), Marco Padilha, and the world premiere of a new work by UCR Professor Paulo C. Chagas, commissioned by the 5th Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival.
The Villa-Lobos International Chamber Music Festival is an annual event conceived by Lars Hoefs in collaboration with UCR Professor Paulo C. Chagas. It celebrates the music of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959), and other Latin American composers of the 20th and 21st centuries.
